Smokey’s Low-Carb Sweet Candied Chicken

Smokey’s Sweet Candied Chicken has been a household favorite for over a decade.  For having only 7 ingredients in this recipe, the flavors are incredible and do not taste sugar-free.  We’ve shared this simple recipe with many friends through the years and would now like to share this with you.

This is an excellent recipe for those of us that work long hours and do not want to  prepare a time-consuming meal.  Preparation only takes 5 minutes and has a cooking time of 1 hour.

The only ingredients required are:

  • 1 Family Sized Package of Boneless Chicken Thighs (or chicken parts of choice)
  • 1 Cup of Sugar-Free Pancake Syrup
  • 1/2 Cup of Reduced Sugar Ketchup
  • 1/4 Cup of Vinegar
  •  1/2 tsp. Pepper
  • 1 tsp. Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp. Ground Ginger

We begin our cooking venture by preheating our oven to 375F degrees and spraying our baking pan with cooking spray.

Next, we’ll place our chicken into our pan.

We’ll continue by pouring our syrup, ketchup, and vinegar into a large mixing bowl and will stir until completely mixed.

Next, we’ll pour our mixture evenly over our chicken thighs.

We’ll then finish our preparation process by sprinkling our spices over the coated chicken pieces.

Finally, we’ll place our chicken thighs into the oven and will bake at 375F degrees for 1 hour.
Every 10-15 minutes, we’ll baste our chicken with the sauce,  until the sauce has fully thickened.
Our Candied Chicken has finished cooking when each piece has been fully coated with our thick and sweet sauce.

Here it is…..another scrumptious and delicious meal, that lacks carbs but embodies flavor!
